Overview: Petty has some NFL qualities but his lack of accuracy downfield raises some major red flag. It’s rare for a prospect to show dramatic improvements in accuracy this late in his career, especially when his mechanics are relatively smooth. Petty is probably best suited for a West Coast scheme, and may be able to develop into a starter in that system. But his ceiling is likely on the lower end of the NFL starter spectrum

Overview: Hogan looks the part and has the basic raw tools, but he still needs a ton of work before he’s ready for the NFL. He can handle the mental demands of quarterbacking, but his fundamentals are lacking and it hurts his accuracy. Unless he refines his mechanics to speed up his release, he will struggle at the next level.

Overview: Hundley has the potential to be something special if he continues his development. He plays in a fairly complex system at UCLA, which asks him to make difficult anticipation throws. His decision making is still a work in progress, as is his ball placement, but he’s shown steady development and there’s reason to hope he can elevate his game to an elite level.

Overview: Miller has elite potential but is still a developmental prospect. He’s shown steady improvement, but still struggles with accuracy. He looks very jumpy in the pocket, even when he’s not facing immediate pressure and it leads to shaky mechanics. With continued develop he could establish himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2015 class but he’s not on that level just yet.

Marcus Mariota Scouting Report

Marcus Mariota QB Oregon #8

Overview: Mariota is a risky prospect because of the scheme he plays in at Oregon. He has the tools to transition to more of a pro-style system, but he needs to land with an organization willing to build around his tools and willing to bring him along slowly as he progresses as a pocket passer.
