Overview: Kelly has some NFL qualities but he lacks the elite physical tools to play at a high level in the pros. He reminds me of Colt McCoy, who always had the accuracy and mental ability to handle the NFL but his arm strength held him back from being able to handle the league as a starter.

Overview: Gardner has impressive physical tools but the mental side of the game has been slow to develop for him. He struggles reading defenses and reacting to pressure around him while keeping his eyes downfield. He has the tools to be a pocket passer, but his first instinct is to run. If he doesn’t show significant development as a senior, he likely enters the draft with fringe draftable grade.

Overview: Keeton is an electric playmaker and appeared to be on track toward establishing himself as one of the top prospects before a season-ending knee injury in 2013. There are some flaws in Keeton’s mechanics, but overall he reminds me of an even more athletic version of Russell Wilson. As long as he stays healthy and continues to progress during his senior year, he has a chance to develop into a special prospect.

Sean Mannion Scouting Report

Sean Mannion QB Oregon State #4

Wt: 220

Overview: Mannion is a polished product entering his senior year and will likely be considered a viable option for a team looking for a starting quarterback in the 2015 draft class. However, what you see is what you get. His lack of mobility and strength limits his upside, which means he may not be seen as the type of quarterback teams want to build around. His ceiling as a prospect is likely as an Andy Dalton type, and if he doesn’t continue to progress he could fall more in the A.J. McCarron range and slide down some boards.

Jacob Coker Scouting Report

Jacob Coker QB Alabama #14

Wt: 230

Overview: Coker’s placement on the preseason rankings is somewhat of a guess based on limited snaps he took at Florida State, but he clearly made an impression on the coaching staff during his two years with the program and he joins Alabama with lofty expectations. He looks like a prototypical pocket passer and his blessed with rare arm strength. We’ll just have to wait and see how the decision making and accuracy hold up over an extended period of time as he takes over the starting job at Alabama.
