Brandon Meriweather #19
Safety
Miami FL
Ht: 6'0
Wt: 195

Strengths: Tremendous all around athlete. A ball hawk in the secondary. Solid tackler; gives a good effort in run support. Plays much bigger and stronger than his size shows. Quicker than he is fast.

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal height and bulk. Character is a serious concern; was suspended for his involvement in the brawl versus Florida International in 2006. Durability is also a concern; had shoulder surgery in 2006 and missed almost his entire freshman season due to injury.

Comments: Meriweather is tremendous athlete and could have been a rare prospect had he been able to stay healthy and out of trouble. He is a similar player to Florida's Reggie Nelson, and even more physical than Nelson. However, his character concerns alone will drop him down on nearly everyone's draft boards. Once in first round consideration, Meriweather dropped to the 3rd or 4th round range after the brawl with FIU. He has a chance to win over scouts with interviews, but the 2nd round looks like his best case scenario.
