Paul Posluszny #31
Outside Linebacker
Penn State
Ht: 6'2
Wt: 238

Strengths: Smart player with great field awareness. A motor that never steps. Team leader on the field. Physically strong; able to shed blockers. Excellent tackling technique. Has experience at inside and outside linebacker.

Weaknesses: Not a great athlete. Slower than ideal linebacker prospect. Has room to bulk up. Below average in coverage. Not a strong blitzer. Injury concerns after he tore ligaments in the 2006 Orange Bowl vs. Florida State.

Comments: Posluszny had a tremendously productive college career and could have been a top ten selection in the 2006 draft had he been healthy and declared. His knee injury derailed those hopes and seriously slowed him for much of the 2006 season. Even before the injury, he wasn't an elite linebacker like A.J Hawk because he lacks Hawk's all around athleticism which makes him so effective as a pass rusher and in coverage. Posluszny is solid linebacker and a tackling machine, but he simply isn't the elite prospect that some believe him to be.
