Strengths: Tough physical player. Experience at safety and cornerback. Does a solid job of stepping up in run support. Shows good ball skills and will make plays in coverage. Decent athlete that looks fluid in coverage.

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal size for either corner or safety. Not a reliable tackler. Serious character concerns. Suspended for two games for violating team rules in 2005. Arrested on marijuana charges in 2006 and temporarily dismissed from the team. Lost starting job once being reinstated and played sparingly in 2006.

Comments: Franklin was a player on the rise after his 2005 season but his off field issues derailed his hopes of being a highly touted prospect entering the 2007 draft. He has some upside, but limited speed and size on top of his character issues will cause him to fall to the late rounds., and possibly out of the draft all together.
