Strengths: Smart technically sound. Solid tackler. Always around the ball. A team leader on the field.

Weaknesses: Undersized. Limited experience at linebacker. Lacks elite speed.

Comments: Herring moved from safety to linebacker before his senior season. He may not have the speed to switch back to safety, but he is vastly undersized for the linebacker position. If he is able to bulk up however, he has the intangibles and understanding of the game to be a productive player. Regardless of size, he should be an impact special teams performer. He projects as a late round pick or undrafted free agent.
