Strengths:
Good timed speed. Well built. A physical receiver. Has a knack for the acrobatic catch. Displays great hands in tight coverage. A productive player in an elite program. Experience as a return specialist.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't look as fast on the field as his timed speed indicates. Good straight line speed but lacks quickness and change of direction ability. Missed majority of 2005 season with a broken leg.
Comments:
Brother of current Rams' wide receiver Reche Caldwell. Looks like a bit of a workout warrior. His postseason numbers don't quite match up with his collegiate numbers. Caldwell is a reliable receiver with good hands but he doesn't have the overall ability to be anything more than a number two or three receiver in the NFL. He is worth taking a chance on in the second or third round, but don't expect him to develop into a number one receiver. Realistically, his ceiling isn't much higher than what his brother has become in the NFL.
