Brian Brohm QB Louisville #12

Ht: 6'3
Wt: 227

Strengths:
Prototypical size and strength of an NFL quarterback. Very smart and experienced quarterback. Good mechanics. Good accuracy on short and deep passes. Strong arm; can make the throw to anywhere on the field.
Weaknesses:
Took snaps out of the shotgun for the majority of his college career. Took a step backwards as a senior. Interceptions more than doubled from his junior to senior year - raises concern about his ability to learn new offenses. Injuries are a major concern. Missed time as a sophomore with a torn ACL. Missed time as a junior after undergoing surgery on a dislocated thumb.
Comments:
Drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 4th round of the 2004 MLB Draft. Brohm entered 2008 as the clear cut best player in the senior class but as he, and the rest of his teammates, struggled to adjust to the new offensive system his stock began to fall. He's still a first round prospect, but not head and shoulders above everyone else. The most important thing to come from his senior year was the fact that he stayed healthy, but his history of injuries is still enough of a concern that it may scare some team away from drafting him early. He could go as early as 3rd overall or he could experience a fall like Brady Quinn or Aaron Rodgers.
