Strengths:
Well built. A tough defender; always gives his best effort. Technically sound. A smart football player; always in the right place. The type of player that always seems to be in the middle of things.
Weaknesses:
Lacks ideal speed. Not a great athlete. Doesn't show a good burst. Fails to disengage from blocks quickly. Little to no upside; he's reached his full potential.
Comments:
Mattison is the type of player you have to like as a coach; you know what you're going to get from him and you'll always get his best effort. Unfortunately he just doesn't have the elite athletic ability to easily take his game to the next level. He'll be a late round consideration, but his best case scenario is as a mediocre backup.
