Dennis Dixon QB Oregon #10

Ht: 6'4
Wt: 205

Strengths:
Tremendous natural athlete. Possibly the fastest quarterback prospect in this draft class. Knows when to use his athleticism to buy time and when to run. Very smart with the football, doesn't force throws. Cool under pressure. Above average arm strength.
Weaknesses:
Didn't do much until his senior year. Torn ACL ended his senior year early. Lacks ideal strength; will be asked to bulk up at the next level. Takes the majority of his snaps out of the shotgun; will need to learn an NFL system.
Comments:
Dixon came from no where to emerge as a potential first day draft selection. His ACL injury hurts his draft stock considerably, especially if he isn't healthy enough to work out before the draft. Dixon has drawn comparisons to Vince Young, but in same ways he's an even better prospect. He isn't the running threat that Young is because of the size difference. However, Dixon is a far more efficient passer and less inclined to make mistakes (20 TD, 4 Int his senior year). He should fall in the 2nd or 3rd round range.
