Donnie Avery WR Houston #2

Ht: 5'11
Wt: 192

Strengths:
Great speed. A true home run threat. Stretches the field as well as anyone in this draft class. Well built and can be physical at times. Reliable hands. Experienced on special teams.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the size and strength to go up and get the ball in traffic; needs to be in the open field to make a play. Disappears inside the red zone. Struggles to find the soft spot in zone defenses. Most of his big plays comes when he gets over top of the defense.
Comments:
Avery projects as an ideal slot receiver at the next level in the mold of a player like Dennis Northcutt. His immediate impact at the next level will be as a return man, but definitely has some upside as a receiver as well. He should land somewhere between the late second and early fifth round.
