Strengths:
Strong and well built. Shows good technique. Stays low and uses good leverage. Showed consistent improvement throughout his career. Has above average speed.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the quickness to match his speed; isn't quick off the snap. Missed part of 2005 with a torn ACL.
Comments:
Thompson is a solid prospect but has very little upside. What you see is what you get with him. He'll make some plays here and there and he won't make mistakes, but he isn't going to wow you with his abilities. He looks like a mid-round pick and a solid backup at the next level.
