Strengths:
Good natural athlete. Hard hitter. Well built. Has experience at cornerback and safety. Good leaping ability. Above average tackler, especially for his size. Experience as a punt returner. An experienced four year starter.
Weaknesses:
Lacks ideal speed. Never looked comfortable when lined up at safety. Out of position too often. Really fell off his senior year.
Comments:
Hefney entered his senior year with high expectations of taking his game to the next level but really fell off with a disappointing performance. He struggled on defense and lacked explosiveness as a return man. His stock has slipped to a mid to late round pick, but he does have some upside when you look at film from his junior year. He certainly has the potential to work his way back up the boards with a good workout.
