Kentwan Balmer DT North Carolina #90

Ht: 6'5
Wt: 308

Strengths:
Ideal height and adequate bulk. Has the frame to add weight. A good athlete for a lineman. Experience at defensive tackle and defensive end. Shows the quickness to get into the backfield and make plays. Can play defensive end in a 3-4 or tackle in a 4-3.
Weaknesses:
Inconsistent throughout his career; had a breakout year in 2007 but was inconsistent throughout his first three years. Had knee surgery during 2005 offseason. Missed time in 2006 with a sprained ankle.
Comments:
Balmer is arguably the best athlete in this year's defensive tackle class. He has the size, strength and speed to be a force at the next level. Based on his 2007 campaign you would think he's a sure thing as a first rounder, but he doesn't have the overall body of work to be lock to go that high. He could come off the board anywhere between picks 20-40.
