Strengths:
A good natural athlete with great body control. Reliable hands. Some experience as a return specialist. Makes quick cuts and can be elusive in the open field.
Weaknesses:
Lacks ideal size. Below average timed speed. Still very raw. Doesn't always run good routes. Disappears from games.
Comments:
Hawkins burst onto the scene as a senior after a very mediocre career leading up to that point. There were times when he looked like a more polished receiver than teammate DeSean Jackson. However, he lacks size and hasn't doesn't have the pure speed you need to make up for being 5'11. He certainly has some upside, but you always have to be cautious when drafting an undersized player who's had a roller coaster career. He looks like a mid-round pick, but may creep up the boards as receivers start flying off the shelf in the early going.
