Lawrence Jackson DE USC #96

Ht: 6'5
Wt: 261

Strengths:
Well built. Very strong. A tough player that can power his way into the backfield. Has a good array of pass rush moves. A smart player that is always in position to make a play. Has the frame to bulk up, which could result in a shift to defensive tackle. An experience player; started 51 games at USC.
Weaknesses:
Had surgery on his right ankle in 2003 and again in 2007. Had a bit of an up and down career, but ended on a high note. Lacks ideal speed to be an elite pass rusher. Already has a lot of wear on his tires, he's been a full time player at an elite program for four years.
Comments:
Jackson burst onto the scene early in his career but his stock took a major hit during his junior year. He bounced back as a senior however, and should be a second round pick at the latest. He's a powerful lineman that has a knack for getting into the backfield and making plays. The one thing may cause him to fall in the draft is that he fits best with a team running a 4-3 defense; he's undersized for a 3-4 end and not fast enough to play linebacker.
