Matt Forte RB Tulane #25

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 221

Strengths:
Extremely well built. Very strong; can withstand a hit and keep plowing forward. Surprising agility and elusiveness for running back of his size. Shows decent hands as a receiver. A work-horse that can definitely carry the load. Shows good drive with his legs; rarely gets knocked backwards. Gives good effort as a blocker.
Weaknesses:
Below average speed. Blocking should be more consistent for a guy his size. Doesn't have a great burst out of the backfield; takes time to get to full speed. Missed time in 2006 with a torn meniscus and PCL.
Comments:
Forte is an intriguing running back that had a very productive career against relatively low level competition. He certainly is built for the NFL, but his lack of speed raises some concerns. If teams are looking for reasons not to draft him the can find it (injuries, lack of speed, level of competition) but he certainly has some upside and is worth a mid-round selection based on potential alone.
