Mike Peterson TE Northwest Missouri State #89

Ht: 6'2
Wt: 247

Strengths:
A tough football player that plays with a mean streak. Adequate speed. Ideal strength. Experienced on special teams.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the speed to quickness to be a deep threat. Very raw. Already 25 years old. May be best suited as an H-back which limits the number of teams that may be interested.
Comments:
Worked at a lumberyard and a shipyard before walking on at Northwest Missouri State. After graduating high school in 2001, played baseball for one year at Des Moines Area Community College. Didn't play organized football from 2001-2003. Peterson is a great story and is on the verge of making an improbable trip to the NFL. He lacks the ideal size for the tight end position but has the athleticism and strength to be an H-back or potentially a traditional fullback in the right position. He is definitely a project and will need to prove himself against the top competition, but is worth a late round selection.
