Quentin Groves DE Auburn #54

Ht: 6'3
Wt: 259

Strengths:
An elite athlete for a defensive lineman. Tremendous speed. A very reliable tackler. A hard hitter. Does a fantastic job in pursuit for a lineman. Plenty of upside. Some experience at linebacker.
Weaknesses:
Very inconsistent. Had a down year as a senior. Arrested for a domestic dispute in 2006 (charges were later dropped). Currently on probation for driving with a suspended license and without insurance. Missed time in 2007 with dislocated toes. Had heart surgery on March 27, 2008. Diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which causes an irregular heart beat.
Comments:
Groves is a phenomenal athlete, but questions about his health are a major, major red flag. The heart surgery is expected to cure the syndrome, but you certainly have to be cautious about investing a first round pick in a guy that is coming off heart surgery. Physically he is a first round talent, but teams may wait until the second round to take a chance on him, where his value will be more worth the risk.
