Strengths:
Tremendous size and strength. Very quick for for a 300 pound lineman. An elite pass rusher for an interior lineman. May have enough athleticism and strength to play defensive end in a 3-4 system. A hard worker and a team leader on the field.
Weaknesses:
Lacks ideal height. Redshirted in 2003 because of a broken ankle. Missed time in 2006 with a knee injury. Suffered another knee injury in 2007 but did not miss any games.
Comments:
Ellis is a tremendous athlete for a defensive lineman and is a lock to come off the board in the top ten. He may actually be higher on some draft boards than Glenn Dorsey based on where each player fits into the team's defensive system.
