Strengths:
Great natural athlete. A smart player that sees the whole field and is always in position to make a play. A very reliable tackler. Well built and can dish out some hard hits. Experience on special teams.
Weaknesses:
Below average ball skills; won't come up with many interceptions. More of a physical defender and better against the run than he is at dropping back in pass coverage.
Comments:
DeCoud possesses some skills that may allow him to develop into a starter at the next level but he needs to round out his game. He is somewhat one dimensional and needs to work on becoming better in pass coverage. As he stands now, he is more of a linebacker lined up at safety. He will be a mid round pick and make an instant impact on special teams and have the chance to develop further.
