Strengths:
Decent size. Very productive at his level of competition. A decent athlete. Explosive off the snap and shows decent pass rushing ability.
Weaknesses:
Below average speed. Hasn't faced much top competition. Only two years of playing experience at against D-I competition at San Diego State before transferring to Portland State.
Comments:
Schantz is a late bloomer who showed little promise while at San Diego State but had an instant impact with the Vikings after transferring. He has the size and just enough athleticism to project as an adequate option on special teams but will struggle to see the field in any other capacity.
