Chase Coffman TE Missouri #45

Ht: 6'6
Wt: 244

Strengths:
Ideal height for a pass-catching tight end. Adequate bulk and strength. Has the frame to put on more weight. An elite pass catcher for the position (more receptions than any other tight end in D-I history). Gives a decent effort as a blocker.
Weaknesses:
Speed is below average; won't be nearly the threat in the passing game that he was at Missouri. Blocking technique is average. Doesn't have much experience blocking, especially considering he was a four-year starter. Serious injury risk; suffered multiple foot and ankle injuries throughout his career.
Comments:
Father played tight end of the Packers and Chiefs...Coffman had a very productive college career but there are some questions about his ability to translate that success to the pro level. He clearly has the size and the hands to be an effective receiver. His below average speed, however, is a serious detractor. He'll need to learn to be more physical and a better blocker to succeed in the NFL.
