Dannell Ellerbe ILB Georgia #33

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 236

Strengths:
An impressive athlete. Good quickness and decent speed. His agility, coupled with his lack of size, allows him to slip between linemen and get into the backfield. An explosive hitter.
Weaknesses:
Undersized. Lacks the strength to shed blocks with consistency. Inconsistent tackler. Took a step backwards in production from his junior to senior season. Suffered a sprained knee in 2008. Already 23 years old. Suspended in 2006 after being arrested on charges of being a minor in possession of alcohol and reckless driving.
Comments:
Ellerbe has the potential to be a decent backup in the pros. His athleticism could allow him to excel on special teams, which is key for backup linebackers trying to make an NFL roster. His recent injuries will cause his stock to fall on draft day, however. He suffered a torn chest muscle this offseason which limited him at the combine.
