James Laurinaitis ILB Ohio State #33

Ht: 6'3
Wt: 240

Strengths:
Adequate height; good overall bulk. Above average athleticism. Great ball skills for a linebacker. Very smooth when dropping into coverage. One of the most technically sound linebackers to enter the draft in years. Comparable to former teammate A.J. Hawk (Packers, 1st round, 2006) in terms of NFL-readiness. A team leader on one of the nation's top defenses. Top-notch intangibles, excellent work ethic; a coaches dream.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't stand out physically in any one area. Doesn't offer much as a pass rusher. Struggles to shed blockers at times; could benefit from adding some upper body strength.
Comments:
Laurinaitis doesn't have the raw physical tools of a Rey Maualuga, but he has been a reliable three-year starter and a leader on one of the best defensive units in the nation. He reminds of me Brian Urlacher - physically he isn't the most impressive player on the field, but he will out-work everyone to reach an elite level.
