Jasper Brinkley ILB South Carolina #52

Ht: 6'2
Wt: 252

Strengths:
Elite size and strength. Looked like a potential 1st-round pick in 2006 before injuries derailed his career. Effective as a pass rusher. Has the ability to play inside or outside at the next level.
Weaknesses:
Missed time in 2007 with a torn ACL and has not been the same player since. Still fairly raw. Doesn't have the instincts you would like to see from a player who will be 24 before the start of the 2009 season. Transferred from junior college and has limited experience against top competition.
Comments:
Brinkley burst onto the scene after transferring from junior college in 2006 and looked like a potential 1st-round pick in 2007 before suffering a torn ACL. The injury has noticeably slowed him down, and he didn't have impressive speed to begin with. Its been said that you don't fully recover from an ACL injury for two years, which could give teams hope of landing a steal in the late rounds.
