Javon Ringer RB Michigan State #23

Ht: 5'9
Wt: 205

Strengths:
Very well built. Tough for his size. Can be used in short-yardage situations despite his lack of size. Tough to bring down unless he's wrapped up. Very durable. Reliable hands as a receiver.
Weaknesses:
Already has a lot of mileage; carried the ball 390 times as a senior. Marginal speed. Doesn't have great vision. Initiates contact too often, something he won't be able to handle at the next level. Stats are inflated; he beat up on weaker opponents and disappeared against better teams.
Comments:
Ringer was an elite collegiate running back at times in 2008, but his numbers are deceiving. He was a non-factor in Michigan State's biggest games against Penn State and Ohio State. He has the potential to be a starter in the pros, but his lack of success against top competition and the wear and tear he's already experienced should knock him into the 3rd or 4th round.
