Ricky Jean-Francois DT LSU #90

Ht: 6'3
Wt: 295

Strengths:
Ideal height. Has moments where he is dominant. Above average athleticism. Does a good job of getting his hands up and disrupting the quarterback's line of sight.
Weaknesses:
Strength is only average. Does not consistently play up to his natural ability. Missed most of 2007 with academic issues. Threatened to take a "good shot" at Tim Tebow in 2008, which raised some concerns about his maturity level.
Comments:
Jean-Francois (pronouced gene fran-swah) had moments where he looked like one of the top defensive players in the nation, such as the National Championship Game against Ohio State where he was named defensive MVP. However, he hasn't consistently played at that level. The comment about Tebow, as well as his academic issues raise red flags about character. His draft position will likely be well below his natural talent level.
