Sean Weatherspoon OLB Missouri #12

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 241

Strengths:
Well built. A hard hitter. A very vocal leader on the field. Great instincts. Has experience at inside and outside linebacker. Has the speed to make plays in pursuit. Solid in coverage; especially dropping back in the zone. Does a nice job reading the quarterback as he drops back into coverage. Enough speed to stay with most tight ends.
Weaknesses:
Lacks the ideal height for the position. Overaggressive at times; goes for a big hit rather than wrapping up the ball carrier. Limited experience as a pass rusher. Strength is marginal; struggles to shed blocks at times. Failed to live up to lofty expectations as a senior, but was still productive.
Comments:
Weatherspoon struggled to take the next step this past season, but he is still a top prospect and a legitimate 1st-round pick. His versatility may be his best attribute. Physically, he is best suited to play outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense, but he definitely has the potential to play inside in either a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme.
