Tony Pike QB Cincinnati #15

Ht: 6'6
Wt: 212

Strengths:
Ideal height. Prototypical arm strength; can make all the throws expected of an NFL quarterback. Impressive mobility for a player of his height. Decent accuracy.
Weaknesses:
Extremely skinny build; needs to add 10-15 pounds of muscle. Suffered a broken arm in 2008 (non-throwing arm) and had a plate inserted. Missed 4 games in 2008 when the plate became damaged. Every quarterback to suit up for Brian Kelly in Cincinnati found success; is Pike just a product of the system? Hasn't faced a ton of elite competition.
Comments:
At times Pike's throws certainly resemble those of an NFL quarterback. However, there are serious concerns about him being a product of the system. Over the past two seasons the Big East has essentially been a lower-level conference and Pike hasn't really been tested. That, coupled with concerns about his lack of strength, creates enough doubt that he shouldn't be selected until the 3rd round at the earliest. He's a developmental prospect that could start someday, but he likely won't be ready from day one.
