2007 NFL Draft:
31. Greg Olsen TE Miami FL
62. Dan Bazuin DE Central Michigan
93. Garrett Wolfe RB Northern Illinois
94. Michael Okwo OLB Stanford
130. Josh Beekman OG Boston College
167. Kevin Payne S Louisiana Monroe
168. Corey Graham CB New Hampshire
221. Trumaine McBride CB Mississippi
241. Aaron Brant OT Iowa State

2007 Analysis:
This was a strange draft for the Bears. I love the Greg Olsen pick. He should instant improve their passing game and give Rex Grossman a reliable target. He could legitimately catch 50+ passes as a rookie if they use him correctly. Dan Bazuin was one of the worst picks of the first day. Not only was he a major reach in the second round, but I don't see how he is going to see the field on the Bears crowded defensive line. With Ogunleye, Brown and Anderson ahead of him, he figures to be their 4th defensive end at best. Wolfe was another reach. He could be a decent third down back, but he could have been available much later in the draft. Okwo is a decent pick, even though its another slight reach. He's athletic and could compete for playing time in the absence of Lance Briggs. Josh Beekman was a steal in the 4th round. He could easily be the long term replacement for Ruben Brown and he also has experience at center, which is a plus. I think Kevin Payne was another solid pick. They needed to add depth at safety. Corey Graham and Trumaine McBride were two decent cornerbacks that should give them some depth, although I didn't think that was a major concern. Aaron Brant doesn't figure to offer them much. He should have gone undrafted and he'll struggle to make the roster. Overall, the Bears just didn't address enough needs and they made too many reaches. They needed a backup defensive tackle and they could have used a big target at wide receiver. This was a fairly disappointing draft for Chicago.

2006 NFL Draft:
42. Danieal Manning S Abilene Christian
57. Devin Hester CB Miami FL
73. Dusty Dvoracek DT Oklahoma
120. Jamar Williams OLB Arizona
159. Mark Anderson DE Alabama
195. JD Runnels FB Oklahoma
200. Tyler Reed OG Penn State
2006 Analysis:
Where's the offense? The Bears had one of the worst offenses in the league last year, yet the only offensive weapon they add is a fullback? Manning is a solid pick that can play corner or safety. Hester is an elite return man, in the mold of Deion Sanders. Dvoracek is a solid pick, but the Bears strongest position is defensive tackle. I like the Williams pick. He should see playing time as a rookie and was one of the more underrated players in this draft. Mark Anderson is a steal on the 2nd day. I felt he could have gone as high as the 2nd round. Runnels is a great blockers, and a very good athlete for a fullback. Reed simply adds some depth to a thin offensive line. Overall it was a solid draft, but I would have liked to see a tight end in here somewhere and maybe a receiver.
