2007 NFL Draft:
12. Marshawn Lynch RB California
34. Paul Posluszny OLB Penn State
92. Trent Edwards QB Stanford
111. Dwayne Wright RB Fresno State
184. John Wendling S Wyoming
222. Derek Schouman TE Boise State
239. CJ Ah You DE Oklahoma

2007 Analysis:
Another solid draft for the Bills under the leadership of Marv Levy. I was mildly surprised that they selected Lynch over Leon Hall in the first round, but they clearly have a glaring need at running back. Posluszny could be a steal in the early 2nd round. He will start right away for them, and could be an impact player for a long time. I love the Trent Edwards pick. I'm not sold on J.P Losman yet, and to get a potentially starting quarterback in the third round is certainly worth the value. Even if Losman continues to improve, they could have a Matt Schaub situation, where they develop Edwards and then trade him down the road. I think Wright is the perfect complimentary back to Lynch. He's a bigger, more powerful runner while Lynch is an outside runner with good speed. The pick of Wendling was more for the best available player than anything else, they seem to be set at safety and he is just going to be a backup in Buffalo. Same scenario with Schouman and Ah You, although Schouman could see some playing time if they use him as a H-back, similar to the way the Redskins have used Chris Cooley the past few years. Overall, it was a solid draft but they ignored one glaring need: cornerback. Their secondary is very thing and I don't see how they're going to match up with receivers like Randy Moss and Ted Ginn, who are now in their division.

2006 NFL Draft:
8. Donte Whitner S Ohio State
26. John McCargo DT North Carolina State
70. Ashton Youboty CB Ohio State
105. Ko Simpson S South Carolina
134. Kyle Williams DT LSU
143. Brad Butler OT Virginia
178. Keith Ellison OLB Oregon State
216. Terrance Pennington OT New Mexico
248. Aaron Merz OG California
2006 Analysis:
Well, this was a very up and down draft for the Bills. By the end of round one I was wondering if Marv Levy had forgotten how to run handle an NFL Draft. They took Whitner at least 8 picks higher than he was going to go. And McCargo wasn't going to be drafted until at least the mid 2nd round; I felt he was more of a 3rd round talent. Then things picked up. Youboty and Simpson are both 1st round talents, and Kyle Williams is another guy that easily could have gone on day one. Brady Butler also had good value at the 143rd pick. Ellison and Merz are just there to fill out the depth chart. Pennington is a nice late round pick. He isn't a great athlete, but is a massive offensive lineman that could be a nice project. Overall, the Bills got some very nice players and the core of a secondary that should be great for years to come.
