2007 NFL Draft:
29. Ben Grubbs OG Auburn
74. Yamon Figurs RS Kansas St.
86. Marshal Yanda OT Iowa
134. Antwan Barnes OLB Florida International
137. Le'Ron McClain FB Alabama
174. Troy Smith QB Ohio State
207. Prescott Burgess OLB Michigan

2007 Analysis:
This was a very average draft for the Ravens. Grubbs can come in and make an immediate impact, but he's the only one from this class. Figurs could be an impact in the return game, and his addition doesn't bode well for current return specialist B.J Sams. I think Yanda has a brighter future as a guard, but it appears the Ravens will try to make him a right tackle. I like the pick of Barnes; he's very raw, but also a tremendous athlete that could play inside linebacker for them. McClain was a smart pick. I think he has a great chance of being their starting fullback in '07. I love the pick of Tory Smith. He's a boom or bust type prospect and in the 5th round you are getting a potential future starter very little risk. Burgess is a perfect fit for the Ravens if he pans out, but he never reached his full potential in college and I don't think he has much future in the NFL. Overall, they only added one sure thing, and a lot of developmental players. It wasn't a huge disappointment, but this draft class doesn't match up with the recent success that Ozzie Newsome has had.

2006 NFL Draft:
12. Haloti Ngata DT Oregon
56. Chris Chester C Oklahoma
87. David Pittman CB Northwestern State
111. Demetrius Williams WR Oregon
132. P.J Daniels Jr RB Georgia Tech
146. Dawan Landry S Georgia Tech
166. Quinn Sypniewski TE Colorado
203. Sam Koch P Nebraska
208. Derrick Martin CB Wyoming
219. Ryan Lacasse DE Syracuse
2006 Analysis:
The Ravens addressed all of their needs in the draft and got a few solid players late. Ngata will be an impact player right away. Chester is more of a project, but a lot of teams see a bright future for the former Sooner tight end. Pittman is another project, but could see playing time as the nickel corner as a rookie. Williams was a definite steal on the 2nd day and should compete for playing time. I really like P.J Daniels. Obviously he won't see the field much as a rookie but he has a bright future. Sypniewski didn't get much playing time behind Joe Klopfenstein in college, but the Ravens like his potential. They'll be hoping that Koch replaces Dave Zastudil who left for Cleveland this offseason. Derrick Martin and Ryan Lacasse are both solid late round picks that could have been chosen much earlier.
