Eric Berry S Tennessee #14

Ht: 5'11
Wt: 203

Strengths:
Adequate size and speed. A very versatile player. Can player either safety position or cornerback. Excellent ball skills. Has a knack for making the big play. Has great instincts against both the pass and the run. Excels in zone coverage. Experienced on special teams.
Weaknesses:
Has been moved around around a lot throughout his career and doesn't have a ton of experience at any one position. Slightly undersized for a strong safety where he's played the majority of his career. May not have the speed to play cornerback. Size will prevent him from being an elite force in run support.
Comments:
Berry is the best safety to enter the draft since Sean Taylor in 2004. His versatility is intriguing and makes him a fit for any defensive scheme. He's best suited as a safety, specifically in a system that relies heavily on zone coverage schemes. He could join Sean Taylor (2004) and Eric Turner (1992) as the only safeties selected in the top five since 1990.
