Larry Asante S Nebraska #4

Ht: 6'0
Wt: 211

Strengths:
Prototypical size for a strong safety. A three-year starter. A very physical defender. A hard hitter. An asset in run support; good closing speed. Strong enough to shed blocks and get into the backfield on occasion.
Weaknesses:
Overaggressive; will go for the big hit rather than the wrap-up tackle. Ball skills are lacking. Doesn't have the overall athleticism to excel in man coverage especially with more athletic tight ends or running backs.
Comments:
Asante roams the secondary like a bowling ball just looking to knock people over. He plays like a small linebacker in run support and is a major asset in those situations. However, his coverage skills are lacking and may limit his ability to stay on the field in a starting capacity. His skill set should make him an ideal special teams player which adds to his value. He shouldn't come off the board before the 3rd round.
